Build Sustainably
Timber Construction
Timber from certified, well-managed sources can be a sustainable construction material, offering a low fossil carbon footprint and the capacity to store biogenic carbon for decades or longer. Recent advancements have led to the widespread use of engineered wood, or mass timber, in many countries as a substitute for high-carbon concrete and steel structural building solutions.
Serre Solutions provides advisory services to Built by Nature, a Netherlands-based NGO whose mission is to transform the built environment by promoting the responsible use of timber and biobased materials.

“Clean” Steel
Steelmaking has a very large carbon footprint and consumes large quantities of mined and processed materials. Steel is used in construction, the auto sector, packaging, and many other ways; it’s a critical material that can contribute to the global low-carbon economy.
ResponsibleSteel the international multistakeholder standard-setting and certification organisation, has been set up to support and accelerate the transition to low-carbon, responsible steelmaking.
Serre Solutions provides advice to the Board and top management of the organisation to help it comply with national and international regulations, and to meet good governance expectations.
